Our Winners

Thanks to an enthusiastic EquiTeam member and supporter we are delighted to have been able to offer a scholarship to two lucky winners and a runner up.

Caitlin Whyte

“Hello, my name is Caitlin, and this my wonderful Welsh pony, Replay.

Our partnership began in 2020 when I decided after five years of university and starting my first ‘proper’ job that I would follow my dream and buy my first pony – we have been besties ever since!

I bought Replay to learn to ride again after a break throughout my time at university and a few confidence knocks. At the very beginning, going out for a solo hack felt as big an achievement as an Olympic gold medal!

Fast forward three years and our partnership has grown from strength to strength. We enjoy doing a bit of everything and are always up for giving something new a go.

I am absolutely delighted to have been chosen for the scholarship.

As a glass half full kind of person I love the positivity of the Equiteam community and can’t wait to connect with like-minded people and share the highs and lows of our journey.”

“I’m so excited to have this amazing opportunity. Pearl came home to me on the weekend before lockdown and as such we’ve spent a long time building our relationship.

We’re now at the point where we are dipping our toes in to competing… but I’m not going to lie we’re not perfect and we’ve still got a lot of learning to do together.

I’m so grateful for the opportunities provided by this EquiTeam scholarship and aim to absorb and learn as much as I can from it.”

I chose to apply for the EquiTeam Scholarship after purchasing my horse in November 2022 and having some difficulties with him, mainly due to my own lack of confidence.

I am keen to expand my knowledge and learn as much as possible to enable me to bring the best out in my horse and myself to enable us to enjoy our journey together!
